Teen solves centuries-old math problem
TUCSON, July 13 (UPI) -- A Raytheon Co.-Lockheed Martin venture has been contracted by the U.S. Army to provide the Javelin anti-tank missile system with support services.
U.S. company Raytheon announced its Javelin Joint Venture with Lockheed Martin was contracted by the Army for life-cycle support of the Javelin medium-range missile system, a lightweight missile technology that can be operated by a single soldier.
Under the $298.6 million contract, Javelin Joint Venture will provide repairs and upgrades along with other life-cycle support for the Javelin system.
"The Javelin life-cycle contract support team continues to provide exceptional support to our warfighters with amazing turnaround time for hardware returned for repair or upgrade," Barry James, Javelin Joint Venture vice president, said in a statement.
"The team has been able to coordinate shipments in and out of theater to the repair facility and back to the front line in a matter of days. We are committed to providing world-class focused support to ensure combat readiness."
