GREENBELT, Md., July 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has selected Lockheed Martin to compete for advisory and assistance services task orders in the European area of operations.

U.S. company Lockheed Martin announced it is one of two companies selected to compete for task orders as part of an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract from the Air Force Europe.

The advisory and assistance services task orders, which have a ceiling of $375 million, are expected to include engineering, technical services and management support for the Air Force's area of operation in Europe.

"We are excited about the opportunity to support the Air Force's mission in Europe," John Mengucci, Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Services-Defense president, said in a statement.

"I am confident that we will be able to provide U.S. Air Force Europe with a cost effective program and a full range of management solutions."
