LANCASTER, Pa., July 6 (UPI) -- U.S. company Herley Industries Inc. has been selected to provide the Captor Radar used in the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft with microwave assembly technologies.

Herley says its Massachusetts-based New England Division was awarded the contract from an undisclosed customer. Under the approximately $2.8 million deal, Herley will provide its complex integrated microwave assembly to support the Captor Radar integrated with the Eurofighter Typhoon, the multinational fighter aircraft development project.

Officials say the Captor is a multi-mode pulse-Doppler radar technology that supports the Eurofighter aircraft.

"We look forward to a long business relationship with our international customer on this important program," Richard Poirier, Herley New England president, said in a statement.
