QinetiQ to support Marines' EFV

QUANTICO, Va., July 2 (UPI) -- The U.S. Marine Corps has contracted QinetiQ North America to provide testing services supporting a next-generation amphibious assault vehicle.

U.S. company QinetiQ says its Systems Engineering Group was awarded the contract from the Marine Corps Systems Command's Acquisition Center for Support Services.

Under the $3.7 million deal, QinetiQ will provide the Marine Corps' Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle with command, control, communications and intelligence tests including planning, execution and data analysis among support services.

According to a news release, the EFV is the Marine Corps' "next-generation of amphibious assault vehicles."

"We are proud of the opportunity to extend our testing support to Program Manager Advanced Amphibious Assault, and look forward to providing the same mission-focused solutions as we have in the past," Lloyd Biggs, QinetiQ North America vice president, warfighting systems integration division, said in a statement.
