ORLANDO, Fla., July 1 (UPI) -- Lockheed Martin announced it has delivered the first of its multi-sensor fire control targeting system to the U.S. Marine Corps.

U.S. company Lockheed Martin held a ceremony Tuesday in Florida marking the first delivery of its Target Sight System production unit to the Marines.

Lockheed Martin's TSS technology, a multi-sensor fire control system designed to enhance the capabilities to acquire, track and designate targets, will support the Marine Corps' AH-1Z Cobra helicopter.

"Lockheed Martin has worked hard to deliver a superior targeting system capability for the AH-1Z Cobra," Col. Harry Hewson, Marine Corps program manager, said in a statement.

"TSS allows warfighters to see farther with greater precision, enabling mission accomplishment and safe return to base. We are looking forward to deploying this capability in the field."
