EVANSVILLE, Ind., June 30 (UPI) -- The Evansville, Ind., Regional Airport has received next-generation screening systems under a Transportation Security Administration security upgrade effort.
The TSA announced it has deployed two Reveal CT-80 screening systems to the Evansville Regional Airport in Indiana. The Reveal technology deployment marked the 97th airport in the United States to receive the advanced threat detection equipment.
Officials say the Reveal systems are designed to upgrade the checked baggage screening to better detect explosives and other threats while streamline the baggage screening process.
"By adding explosive detection systems at Evansville, we greatly enhance the security at the airport with a state-of-the-art technology designed to detect explosive materials," David Kane, TSA federal security director. "We look forward to continuing to provide a high level of security for travelers in the region with this technology."
