YEHUD, Israel, June 30 (UPI) -- Magal Security Systems announced it has been awarded several contracts to deliver its border and perimeter intrusion protection systems.

Israel-based Magal has received a contract to extend its Perimeter Intrusion Detection System at an undisclosed airport in Eastern Europe under a deal for $ 1.6 million.

Magal was also awarded $ 4.6 million to integrate its border protection solution in Israel and also deliver its Volumetric Intrusion Detection System at several nuclear power sites in Southeast Asia under a deal worth $ 1.3 million.

Company officials say Magal was additionally awarded a $1 million contract for its Taut Wire and Vibration Sensor technologies for integration at two unnamed airports in Southeast Asia.

"Magal is in the midst of a transition," Yoav Stern, Magal acting president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"While we still believe there are some challenging times ahead, these latest additions to our backlog of signed orders and contracts, is actually making it one of the largest in our company's history."
