FAIRFAX, Va., June 30 (UPI) -- U.S.-based Federation for Identity and Cross-Credentialing Systems says its network supports military installations with physical and cyber threats protections.
FiXs, which was recently recognized in testimony before the House of Representatives Armed Services Committee's Subcommittee on Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities, announced its network is providing designated U.S. military installations with electronic verification support to ensure access is granted to approved credentials.
A public-private partnership, FiXs says it has extended its capabilities for identity authentication supporting military installations with physical and cyber threats protections.
"FiXs is pleased that the importance of a strong federated identity strategy has been recognized at the highest levels of our national cyber security leadership," Michael Mestrovich, FiXs president, said in a statement.
"FiXs has focused on maintaining its certification and accreditation, as accepted by the Defense Department, and on piloting interoperable secure authentication capabilities between the department and its industry partners."
