PHILADELPHIA, June 30 (UPI) -- The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia announced two new clothing items have been made available in a move to support deployed troops.
The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia says its Web-based online ordering service and the Army Direct Ordering Program now carry a new flame-resistant Army combat uniform and a new physical fitness uniform.
The DSCP, part of the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, announced the availability of the new clothing technologies to support ongoing operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere in the Central Command's area of operations.
"The Army Direct Ordering program has been an outstanding success and a valuable benefit to soldiers deployed to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, providing sustainment of clothing bag items and organizational clothing and individual equipment," Kenneth Gunn, Defense Supply Center Philadelphia program manager for the third party logistics program, said in a statement.
"Soldiers have the ease of ordering from a Web-based catalog and receive the order that has been individually picked, packed, and shipped to their location in theater."
