Pranalytica selected for DARPA phase 1B

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has selected Pranalytica to continue its involvement in the development of advanced laser technologies.

U.S. company Pranalytica was selected by DARPA to support the next phase of the Efficient Midinfrared Laser program. Pranalytica was one of three companies selected to work on the program's phase 1B.

Efficient Midinfrared Laser program is part of a Defense Department effort to develop "directional infrared countermeasures, advanced stand-off chemical sensors, and laser radar technologies," a release said.

"Pranalytica is proud to be selected to continue with the project," Kumar Patel, Pranalytica president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We are committed to providing breakthrough technologies and applications to enhance the capabilities and safety of our troops in today's dynamic and high tech wartime environments."
