MORGANTOWN, W.Va., June 24 (UPI) -- Augusta Systems Inc. has been contracted by the U.S. Navy to support the unmanned vehicle system intelligent network with testing and enhancements.
U.S. company Augusta Systems, provider of its EdgeFrontier that supports the unmanned technologies intelligent network, was awarded the contract from the Naval Air Systems Command.
Under the $1.3 million contract, Augusta Systems will provide the intelligent network with test and enhancements to support the management of unmanned air, ground and sea vehicles along with unmanned devices.
"Augusta Systems EdgeFrontier powers the intelligent convergence of data from diverse sources, providing a platform for the Navy's intelligent, swarming network," Patrick Esposito, Augusta Systems president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.
"This network can help the Navy to achieve important technology objectives, including system interoperability, network-centric operations and the enhancement of its unmanned vehicle capabilities."
