STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 23 (UPI) -- The Swedish Defense Materiel Administration has contracted Sectra to further develop a telephony technology to support troops' communication capabilities.
Sectra was awarded the contract from Swedish Defense Materiel Administration, known as FMV, for the company to support the Swedish Defense Forces with advanced communication technologies.
Under the approximately $1.62 million contract, Sectra will further develop its Tiger system that is designed to support encrypted telephony between headquarters and troops operating in the field.
"It is important for us to simplify daily life for users of our crypto products," Michael Bertilsson, Sectra Communications president, said in a statement.
"The solution that we are currently developing will provide personnel in the field and in command positions the opportunity for secure communications with each other and contribute to more efficient communications within peacekeeping forces."
