WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 16 (UPI) -- ITT Corp. announced it has delivered prototypes of its next-generation night-vision goggle technology to the U.S. Army for evaluation.

U.S. company ITT says its new Digital Enhanced Night Vision Goggle prototype has been submitted to the Army for evaluation.

Company officials say the new ENVG (D) technology is part of an effort to replace the standard image intensification technology with digitally fused imagery that can support exporting and importing of digital images for enhanced situational awareness.

"We were extremely proud to provide our latest night vision technology to our U.S. Army customer," Mike Hayman, ITT Night Vision business president, said in a statement.

"By providing the ability to connect to the digital battlefield, tomorrow's warfighter will be able to send and receive imagery, greatly enhancing situational awareness."
