SINGAPORE, June 5 (UPI) -- Singapore-based Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies announced the launch of a new power technology to improve the endurance of unmanned aerial systems.

Horizon, a compact fuel cell systems developer for the aerospace market, has released its next-generation fuel cell power system, called Aeropak, for the UAS market.

Company officials say the Aeropak power system is designed to provide new endurance capabilities for UAS technology for mission critical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.

According to a news release, the Aeropak system can improve the endurance of a UAS by "as much as 300 percent" or "up to four times the endurance capability of advanced lithium batteries currently in use."
