MERCERVILLE, N.J., May 28 (UPI) -- U.S. company Laser Energetics Inc. announced the launch of its new non-lethal laser technology for the military and law enforcement markets.

Laser Energetics has released its Dazer Laser light fighting system. Company officials announced the Dazer Lasers will be launched in two models that include the Defender and the Guardian.

The Dazer Laser is a non-lethal laser technology designed to inflict threatening individuals with temporary vision and balance impairment.

"This weapon is humanitarian and will save the lives of both the enforcer and the threat at longer ranges," Robert Battis, Laser Energetics chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"No longer will the enforcer have to risk their lives to bring the threat in closer to them in order to engage them, which puts the enforcer's life at risk."
