Teleflex to support A-10 program

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., April 29 (UPI) -- Boeing has contracted Teleflex Aerospace to support the U.S. Air Force A-10 Wing Replacement program with its actuator technologies.

U.S. company Teleflex Aerospace said its Actuation division was awarded the Boeing contract to deliver its electromechanical actuators. Teleflex said the electromechanical actuators will be used to support the Air Force's Wing Replacement program for the fleet of A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft.

The A-10, a twin-engine jet aircraft, is designed to provide day-and-night close air combat support. Officials said Teleflex will supply its Roll Trim actuators and also its Pitch Trim and Roll Tab Shift actuator technologies for the Wing Replacement program.

According to a news release, the Teleflex actuators will begin being delivered in 2010, and "if all A-10 aircraft are upgraded, Teleflex Actuation will provide 242 sets of actuators."
