Honeywell awards follow-on to Sypris

TAMPA, Fla., April 29 (UPI) -- U.S. company Honeywell International has contracted Sypris Electronics to support the production of the F-16 fighter aircraft's Digital Flight Control Computer.

Sypris Electronics, a ruggedized-electronic-products and advanced-engineering-services provider, was awarded the contract from Honeywell's New Mexico-based Defense and Space Electronic Systems unit.

Under the $3.6 million follow-on contract, Sypris will deliver technologies to support Honeywell's production of the F-16 DFLCC, a computer designed to increase aircraft performance through advanced pilot and aircraft data integration.

"We are delighted to continue our support of Honeywell's DFLCC for one of the most dependable and successful aircraft to date," John Walsh, Sypris Electronics president, said in a statement.

"Honeywell is one of our longest customer relationships, and we look forward to continuing to grow our partnership on this and other additional multiyear defense contracts."
