British contract for surveillance tech

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 16 (UPI) -- The British Airport Authority has contracted Digital Ally Inc. to provide video-surveillance technologies for airport security vehicles.

U.S. company Digital Ally was awarded the British Airport Authority contract to deliver its DVM-500 surveillance systems. Under the deal, Digital Ally will install the DVM-500, a digital video system integrated into a vehicle's rearview mirror, in security vehicles operating at the Heathrow and Gatwick international airports.

"The international airports involved in these orders -- particularly Heathrow -- are among the most heavily secured transportation hubs in the world, and we are pleased with their decisions to utilize the DVM-500 for perimeter security and other surveillance activities," Stanton Ross, Digital Ally chief executive, said in a statement.

Digital Ally announced it has also received a contract from the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation in Canada for the delivery of its DVM-500 systems. Officials said the contract with Canada is for installation of the DVM-500 systems in law-enforcement vehicles that patrol highways.

"These orders illustrate the expanding utilization of our products among security and law-enforcement agencies at high-profile, high-risk facilities around the world," Ross said.
