ARLINGTON, Va., April 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted CACI International Inc. to provide life cycle management support for the Distributed Common Ground System-Army.

U.S. company CACI was awarded the DCGS-A deal as part of its strategic-services-sourcing contract with the Army. Under the $38 million prime contract, CACI will provide the system with engineering and program-management services to support intelligence and electronic warfare.

Officials said the DCGS-A integrates data sources in order to streamline the information for use in operations by commanders in the field.

"We are proud the U.S. Army has selected CACI to help sustain and enhance the Distributed Common Ground System-Army," Bill Fairl, CACI U.S. operations president, said in a statement.

"Our demonstrated expertise in Army intelligence enables us to provide the highest quality of support to help Army field commanders develop the situational awareness they need to protect themselves and defeat the enemy."
