DSPCon to support UAV data analysis

BRIDGEWATER, N.J., March 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has awarded DSPCon Inc. a grant to develop a full mission and event data acquisition and analysis technology for unmanned aerial systems.

New Jersey-based DSPCon was awarded a small-business innovation research grant from the Naval Air Warfare Center. Under the $80,000 Phase I grant, DSPCon will develop a real-time mission recording system to be used in conjunction with hyper-spectral cameras integrated into Navy UAS.

Official said the data acquisition and analysis system developed by DSPCon will be designed to improve real-time collection and analysis of data for UAS ground stations to support intelligence and surveillance operations.

"This latest SBIR award speaks volumes about our ability to consistently develop technologies that are at the leading edge of innovation," Al Brower, DSPCon president and chief executive, said in a statement.

"It validates our unique approach to data acquisition and analysis and will enable us to explore new applications for our technology."
