ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded two contracts to Cybernet Systems Corp. to compete for modeling and simulation support service task orders.

U.S. company Cybernet was selected for two omnibus contracts from the Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation, or PEO STRI.

By being selected, Cybernet will compete for individual PEO STRI Omnibus Contract II task orders, known as STOC II, supporting simulation and training initiatives for the Army.

The STOC II tasks orders are worth approximately $17.5 billion over 10 years to all the companies selected to participate.

"Cybernet has more than 20 years of extensive experience in modeling, simulation and training, delivering products and services through commercial licensing and over 100 completed contracts in these areas," Heidi Jacobus, Cybernet chairwoman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We are eager to use our capabilities to support the war fighter's needs through STOC II efforts."
