SPRINGFIELD, Va., March 10 (UPI) -- The Multi-National Security Transition Command in Iraq has completed a training exercise conducted by contractor Versar Inc.
U.S. company Versar was under contract to support a MNSTC Iraq J7 Engineering Directorate training program. Under the deal, Versar conducted a three-day training exercise to support critical infrastructure improvement as part of the wider reconstruction effort in Iraq.
The completed training exercise was also designed to support the ongoing transition to Iraqi-led operations and the establishment of a program so that Iraqis will soon be able to train Iraqis.
"As a company, we are proud of our commitment and work for the United States' rebuilding mission in Iraq," Ted Prociv, Versar president and chief executive, said in a statement.
"This training mission is another example of our ongoing effort to assist Iraqis to be more self-sufficient in the future. We believe that as the United States' role changes in Iraq, Versar will expand its efforts in the coming years."
