LANCASTER, Pa., March 9 (UPI) -- Herley Industries Inc. has been contracted to support a U.S. Navy electronic attack aircraft with its integrated microwave assemblies.

Pennsylvania-based Herley, a microwave technology solutions developer for the defense and homeland security market, says its CTI subsidiary was awarded the contract from an undisclosed U.S. defense company.

Under the approximately $2.3 million deal, Herley will deliver its complex integrated microwave assemblies for use in a Navy electronic attack aircraft.

Officials say the contract follows an $8.2 million contract previously awarded to the company's Herley New England unit.

"These contract awards are an indication of the customer's continuing confidence in Herley's technical expertise in the design and production of precision microwave assemblies," Myron Levy, Herley chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
