Nu-Torque becomes Curtiss-Wright's segment

ROSELAND, N.J., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. company Curtiss-Wright Corp. has acquired a stake in valve solutions developer Nu-Torque in a move to expand in the U.S. Navy market.

Officials announced that Nu-Torque will become part of Curtiss-Wright's Flow Control segment after the acquisition of nearly all of the company's assets. Nu-Torque is a developer of electric and hydraulic valve actuation and control devices used on Navy ships.

Curtiss-Wright, a motion and flow control solutions developer, among other services, purchased the Nu-Torque assets as part of an effort to move further into the Navy market.

"The acquisition of Nu-Torque is a significant addition to our existing portfolio of highly engineered valves, controls and actuators," Martin Benante, Curtiss-Wright chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"Nu-Torque also provides the opportunity to expand our presence in the U.S. Navy market, strengthens our system integration capability and enhances the expansion into international niche markets."
