Lockheed Martin to support CNIC security

SEABROOK, Md., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Lockheed Martin to support the Commander Naval Installations Command with non-guard security.

U.S. company Lockheed Martin was awarded $350 million with options for an additional $112 million from a U.S. Defense Department collaborative.

As part of the collaborative, called Integrated Security Support Solutions, Lockheed Martin and partnering government personnel will provide the CNIC with non-guard security support including vehicle inspections, surveillance detection and explosive detection dog services, among other services.

"We welcome the opportunity to work as part of IS(3) with the Commander Naval Installations Command to provide these essential services," Carey Smith, Lockheed Martin Technical Services vice president, said in a statement.

"We are pleased that our Lockheed Martin team was recognized as offering the highest-quality service necessary to meet the security support needs of our Navy."
