BURLINGAME, Calif., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted ECC to support the construction of two buildings for the U.S. military's Medical Education Training Complex.

California-based ECC was awarded the contract from the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment. Under the $117 million award, ECC will design and construct, with primary partners Burns & McDonnell and Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc., Buildings 3 and 4 of the METC Medical Instructional Facilities located at Fort Sam Houston in Texas.

Officials say Buildings 3 and 4 of the Medical Instructional Facilities, which support the U.S. military's medical training, will meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver requirements and be the largest facilities on the METC campus.

"This is such an exciting opportunity for our team," Manjiv Vohra, ECC president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We have developed a sustainable and functionally efficient building design, which will allow us to construct a superior learning environment for our future tri-services medical professionals."
