
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Aecom Technology Corp. to provide the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 with aircraft maintenance services.
U.S. company Aecom was awarded the contracted from the Air Force for Contract Field Teams. Under the $52 million deal, Aecom will provide the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 31, or VX-31, with maintenance support at the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station in California.
Aecom officials say they will send a team to the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station to provide "organizational and intermediate-level maintenance support for VX-31's mission of testing and evaluating current and future aircraft and related systems," the release said.
The VX-31 contract, part of a Defense and Homeland Security departments initiative, is an effort to support the research and integrated development flight test phases.
