JOHNSTOWN, Pa., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Concurrent Technologies Corp. has been honored for its development of a decision support technology for the U.S. Marine Corps.

Pennsylvania-based CTC has been recognized as a major contributor to the Defense Department. The company was recently given the 2008 Defense Logistics Technology Implementation of the Year Award for a technology designed to support Marine Corps decision-making.

The defense technology award, which recognizes exemplary military technologies, was awarded to CTC for the Total Life Cycle Management Common Operating Picture application. Officials say the TLCM-COP provides Marine Corps officials a common view of weapons systems and equipment status that supports fleet management decision-making.

"One of our clients, the Marine Corps Logistics Command, nominated CTC for this prestigious national award, which makes it all the more meaningful to our organization," Edward Sheehan, CTC president, said in a statement.

"This award acknowledges our client's satisfaction with our work as well as our significant contribution to military logistics on behalf of U.S. warfighters."
