MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has contracted BearingPoint Inc. to support the Business Transformation Agency's headquarters.

U.S. company BearingPoint was selected by the Defense Department Business Transformation Agency as part of a contract vehicle with five other firms. Under the $260 million deal, BearingPoint will support the Business Transformation Agency's Cross Agency Support Services effort.

Officials say services included in the Business Transformation Agency contract are supporting business transformation operations with strategic planning and analysis, among other supply chain and broad training initiatives.

"BearingPoint is a leader in public services transformation," Brenda Walker, BearingPoint defense practice vice president, said in a statement.

"We believe BearingPoint's proven ability to drive transformation projects, combined with our highly skilled consultants and an understanding of mission priorities, will serve us well as we work to support the Business Transformation Agency with this critical initiative."
