REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has renewed a contract with Sikorsky Aerospace Services for continued logistical and engineering support for the Corpus Christi Army Depot.
Sikorsky, a United Technologies Corp. subsidiary, was awarded a renewed contract from the Army Aviation and Missile Command. Under the $840 million deal, Sikorsky will continue to support the Corpus Christi Army Depot with technical and engineering services.
Officials say Sikorsky will supply the Army with on-site repair and procurement support for 70 component line items for the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.
"This contract renewal signifies the continuing success of this partnership with the U.S. Army," David Adler, Sikorsky Aerospace Services president, said in a statement.
"More importantly, the increased depot production at Corpus Christi Army Depot will support U.S. troops by keeping their Black Hawk helicopters in optimum condition to do the important work that they do."
