RESTON, Va., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted the Ventura Technology Enterprises and STG Inc. team to support the Pacific Theater Information Grid.

The Army Pacific-Theater Network Operations and Security Center awarded Ventura and STG a $29 million, five-year contract to provide information technology support for the Army's mission-critical information grid in the Pacific area of operations.

Ventura and STG will be expected to provide around-the-clock IT services and support, including network management and information assurance, among other tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the Army's information grid.

"Ventura Technology has over 10 years of experience performing IT and systems engineering support services to Pacific Rim customers within the Department of Defense," Bob Ventura, Ventura Technology president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"Partnering with STG gives Team Ventura a broader understanding of all requirements and an unparalleled capability to perform on this contract and ensure mission success."
