LM to support SPAWAR's Hawaiian facilities

SEABROOK, Md., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Lockheed Martin for the company to provide technology support for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific.

U.S. company Lockheed Martin was contracted by SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific to compete for up to $5.1 million in available funds to support SPAWAR's Hawaii field activity operations. Officials say Lockheed Martin is one of two companies competing for the new indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity contracts.

The SPAWAR deal includes awards for rapid prototype development along with installation, engineering and logistics support, among other tasks.

"Lockheed Martin is proud to expand our relationship with SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific, and we are committed to building on our collective successes through this new opportunity with the Hawaii field activity," Carey Smith, Lockheed Martin Technical Services vice president, said in a statement.
