HAIFA, Israel, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Israel-based Elbit Systems says it has been awarded a $10 million contract order for its mobile combat training technologies.

Elbit, a developer of electronic solutions for the defense market, says it will supply its Live Training System as part of the announced $10 million contract from an unnamed Asian country.

Company officials say the mobile training system will support combat troops with a battlefield display and other video technologies. Additionally, the live training system enables training in urban scenarios and other operational areas without using live ammunition, which reduces training costs.

"Winning this project positions Elbit Systems as a leading supplier in the field of trainers and simulators," Ran Hellerstein, Elbit Systems Aerospace joint general manager, said in a statement.

"We anticipate growing interest among our global clients in acquiring similar systems."
