ANNISTON, Ala., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded BAE Systems three contracts to supply spare parts for mine resistant ambush protected vehicles.
The three contracts, totaling approximately $66.6 million, are for more than 3,000 RG33 category II MRAP spare parts.
Under the deal, managed by the Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Life Cycle Management Command, British company BAE will supply axles, engines, transmissions and other MRAP vehicle maintenance spare parts.
"BAE Systems continues to meet the needs of Marines, soldiers and Special Forces in combat areas," Matt Riddle, BAE wheeled vehicle programs vice president, said in a statement.
"The MRAP spare parts will be shipped to the Defense Distribution Depot at Red River Army Depot for use by the men and women in theater."
