SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 6 (UPI) -- BAE Systems has awarded a follow-on contract to U.S. company TTM Technologies Inc. for additional circuit board technologies used in thermal weapons sights.

TTM received a $7 million follow-on deal from BAE for its printed circuit boards and printed circuit board assemblies. The circuit board technologies are used in BAE's production of thermal weapon sights for light, medium and heavy weapons.

"We are pleased to provide continued support to BAE Systems," Kent Alder, TTM president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"The award to TTM of this additional contract reflects their continued confidence in the strength of our highly technical printed circuit boards and printed circuit board assemblies, which will contribute to current and future infantry armament."

BAE's thermal weapon sights provide weapons operators with increased target acquisition range and surveillance capabilities.
