HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- QinetiQ North America has been contracted to provide onsite service and support for the U.S. Army's Apache Helicopter Division.

The Army Aviation and Missile Command contracted QinetiQ's systems engineering group to provide engineering and other services to the Aviation Engineering Directorate's Apache Helicopter Division.

Under the $11 million deal, QinetiQ will ensure that the Apache helicopter fleet is air-worthy through onsite inspection and review of safety documents at the Aviation Engineering Directorate Headquarters in Alabama.

"We look forward to continuing our support of the Apache helicopter platform at a critical time in our country's fight against terrorism," Kurt Heine, QinetiQ North America spokesman, said in a statement.
