LANCASTER, Pa., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- U.S. company Lockheed Martin has contracted Herley Industries Inc. to support the production of Test Missile Kits with hardware components.

Pennsylvania-based Herley was awarded a $13.9 million follow-on subcontract to supply Lockheed Martin Space Systems with Test Missile Kit hardware supplies.

The Test Missile Kits are implemented by Lockheed Martin with the Trident II D5 as part of the missile flight-test program. Officials say the Test Missile Kits are part of the Trident II D5 missile's testing configuration.

"We have been involved in development and production on the Test Missile Kit for the Trident II D5 since 2003." Myron Levy, Herley chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We are proud to participate in this important strategic missile program."
