HONOLULU, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Eid Passport Inc. says it has installed its RAPIDGate system at the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command in Honolulu.

Registered And Previously Identified Gate is a program designed by Oregon-based Eid Passport that pre-screens vendors, suppliers and other contractors that frequently work at military installations. The individuals are pre-screened against government security checklists to streamline access through a military base's security checkpoint.

Eid was contracted to implement its RAPIDGate Program, which is widely used at U.S. military installations, as a way to improve security at the base and also save time.

"Eid Passport is pleased to provide another U.S. Coast Guard facility with this important added layer of security," Steve Larson, Eid Passport chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"In addition to the security benefits for the facility, the RAPIDGate Program will save both vendors and U.S. Coast Guard force protection personnel time, resources and money through more streamlined access."
