RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- The Hawaiian Air National Guard has contracted Cyberlux Corp. for the company's tactical lighting technologies.

Under the deal, North Carolina-based Cyberlux will supply its BrightEye Tactical Illumination System to the Hawaiian Air National Guard. Company officials say the BrightEye lighting technology system is capable of lighting a target area at a distance of up to 1,000 feet.

Cyberlux, a developer of light-emitting diode systems for the homeland security and defense industry, among other applications, has delivered its BrightEye technology to several U.S. National Guard units and also recently for the Vigilant Guard 2008 Disaster Response Exercise.

"We are pleased to see new orders from our military sales representatives at an unremitting pace, and we remain confident that these sales are a clear indication that our products are the best in the field," Mark Schmidt, Cyberlux president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
