LM contracts IFS for British JAMES project

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- IFS Applications has been contracted by Lockheed Martin to support an asset-management deal with the British Ministry of Defense.

Illinois-based IFS received a more than $25.6 million software-licensing contract from U.S. company Lockheed Martin to support work on the British military's Joint Asset Management Engineering Solution Land project. The JAMES Land asset-management project is an effort to "optimize asset usage with minimal fleet sizes," the release said.

Under the deal IFS will provide Lockheed Martin with its turnkey asset-management software technologies, which are expected to support data collection and analysis of British Ministry of Defense assets.

"This new contract award reflects the longstanding relationship we have with Lockheed Martin in providing effective turnkey solutions to the defense market," Iain Green, IFS Defense chief executive officer, said in a statement.
