POMPANO BEACH, Fla., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Supply Center Philadelphia has contracted Point Blank Solutions Inc. for the company's body armor technologies.

The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia awarded Point Blank Solutions a $22.2 million contract for 45,000 Outer Tactical Vests body armor.

Point Blank Solutions, a developer of advanced body armor systems for the U.S. military and others in the security and defense market, will deliver the Outer Tactical Vests to the Defense Supply Center before January 2009.

"Demands for body armor have continued despite the delays in contracts; we are now seeing awards to satisfy existing requirements," Larry Ellis, Point Blank Solutions president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"This latest award is yet another indicator Point Blank competes well on a best-value and highest-quality basis. We are well positioned for future awards."
