MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- QinetiQ North America announced plans to acquire Dominion Technology Resources Inc. in an expansion initiative into the security and intelligence market.

QNA has signed a letter of intent with Virginia-based DTRI that officials say is part of an effort to expand the company's reach into the security and intelligence market through DTRI's products and services specialized for the U.S. intelligence community.

Officials say the DTRI acquisition will add new capabilities, including analysis and planning support of missions and intelligence, among other offerings, to QNA's product lineup.

"DTRI is an excellent addition to QNA, providing important new customer relationships within the intelligence community and enables QNA to expand its offerings in the areas of mission analysis, planning, systems engineering and integration support to current and future operations," Duane Andrews, QNA chief executive officer, said in a statement.
