Curtiss-Wright to support Army FCS program

ROSELAND, N.J., July 31 (UPI) -- Curtiss-Wright Corp. has been contracted to supply its Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module technology under a U.S. Army Future Combat Systems support deal.

General Dynamics C4 Systems and Rockwell Collins awarded New Jersey-based Curtiss-Wright a contract to support the development and demonstration phase of the Army's FCS Integrated Computer System program. General Dynamics and Rockwell Collins are under contract with the Army for computer processing, networking and information assurance technology development for the FCS program.

Officials say Curtiss-Wright's Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module is part of an initiative to meet FCS performance and reliability requirements.

"Curtiss-Wright is proud to supply our advanced open-standards based networking products for the U.S. Army's FCS/ICS program," Martin Benante, Curtiss-Wright chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We have taken a leadership role in developing the new high-performance standards needed to meet emerging defense applications, and we are committed to delivering products based on these standards that should provide maximum throughput, compatibility and computing power."
