SAIC to support nuke stockpile security

MCLEAN, Va., July 21 (UPI) -- Science Applications International Corp. has been contracted to support the U.S. Office of the Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters.

Under a $26 million deal, SAIC will provide the Office of the Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters with assessments, services and recommendations in support of the U.S. nuclear stockpile.

SAIC, a national security and critical infrastructure support services provider for the defense and homeland security markets, will provide the technical services around the national capital region.

"We are pleased to continue providing support to activities that help maintain a credible U.S. nuclear deterrent," Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president, said in a statement.

"For two decades, we have supported the U.S. federal government in their efforts to build diverse, flexible and responsive capabilities to thwart current and evolving challenges to national security."
