FALLS CHURCH, Va., July 16 (UPI) -- DynCorp International has been awarded a follow-on contract from the U.S. Air Force for continued support of the Contract Field Teams Program.
Under the contract, DynCorp, which has worked with the Contract Field Teams Program for more than 50 years, will provide maintenance and repair work on a depot and organizational level at Air Force installations around the world.
Officials say $10.1 billion has been allocated for the Contract Field Teams Program over seven years, which DynCorp will be available to bid on.
The Contract Field Teams Program is an initiative to quickly deploy technicians to support war readiness and planning for U.S. Defense Department agencies.
"We are proud of the aviation partnership we have enjoyed with our armed forces since we first began work on this contract in 1951, and honored to continue," William Ballhaus, DynCorp president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"The Contract Field Teams are part of the lifeblood of this company, and represent a solemn commitment by our professionals to the safety and readiness of our nation's aviators."
