SAN FRANCISCO, June 26 (UPI) -- San Francisco-based URS Corp. has received a heavy engineering, repair and construction contract for services at the U.S. military's Fort Sam Houston.
The Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence awarded URS a two-year contract with a ceiling of $99.9 million, including approximately $89.9 million in a base bid plus options to support expansion plans at Fort Sam Houston in Texas.
Under the deal URS will construct two military training medical instructional facilities equipped to support the medical branches of "radiology, pharmacy, biomedical equipment and dental technicians along with nuclear medicine technologists," the release said.
"We are pleased to have been awarded this task order, which augments URS' robust portfolio of base realignment and closure projects awarded to date," Gary Jandegian, URS division president, said in a statement.
"We look forward to contributing to the Air Force's effort to build and utilize these key medical training facilities at Fort Sam Houston."
