NEW YORK, June 21 (UPI) -- New York-based IDO Security has expanded the availability of its patented metal detection screening technology in a move to extend its market reach.

IDO Security announced the expanded availability of its MagShoe threat detection technology through a focused network of distributors and system integrators. Officials say with an expanded distribution network and the development of a high volume production capacity, IDO Security has created a complete infrastructure to commercially manufacture and distribute its MagShoe technology.

The patented MagShoe provides security authorities advanced metal detection screening capabilities without the requirement of shoe removal. Company officials say the new distribution network will provide regional demonstrations, sales and implementation of the MagShoe across the United States and in nine other countries in Europe and Asia.

"MagShoe is the missing link in today's high-security environments, offering a highly efficient, completely reliable method of scanning the lower body that is also cost-effective and convenient," John Mitola, IDO Security director, said in a statement.

"The nature of our business and the clients we serve demands a highly qualified support system -- from robust commercial manufacturing capabilities, to localized sales and service provided by a hand-selected group of the most trusted security vendors in the world."
