ROSELAND, N.J., June 16 (UPI) -- South Africa-based Denel Land Systems has contracted U.S. film Curtiss-Wright Corp. to support infantry combat vehicles for the South African army.

Under the $39 million contract, Curtiss-Wright Corp. will supply drive and actuation systems to Denel for implementation into the South African army's ICV, an 8X8 wheeled infantry troop's vehicle. Curtiss-Wright officials say their turret drive and actuation systems will go to support the mortar and missile launcher for the ICV.

"We are excited to announce this award, which demonstrates the superiority of our advanced technologies on a global basis," Martin Benante, Curtiss-Wright chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Denel Land Systems and look forward to utilizing Curtiss Wright's 50-plus years of engineering leadership to work on the ICV program."
