HUNT VALLEY, Md., May 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted AAI Corp. for the production of Joint Service Electronic Combat Systems Testers.

AAI received the $7.1 million contract award from the Air Force at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia for the production of 25 JSECST systems. The JSECST systems, deployed on more than 10 military aircraft platforms, test electronic warfare and avionics systems for mission-readiness.

AAI's JSECST program has completed 356 system deliveries since 2003. The technology has been deployed by every branch of the U.S. military along with the militaries of several U.S. allies around the world.

"The operational utility offered by AAI's JSECST system is recognized not only by the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, but also by our allies in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland and other nations that utilize the systems for flight line and laboratory applications," Ed Buffington, AAI vice president of test systems, said in a statement.

The announced contract has a potential value of $67.5 million if all options are exercised.
