ROSELAND, N.J., May 15 (UPI) -- Curtiss-Wright Corp. has been contracted to supply general processor modules in support of the U.S. Army's future combat systems program.
General Dynamics C4 Systems and Rockwell Collins, contractors for the FCS program, awarded Curtiss-Wright an $8 million subcontract for more than 1,000 modules. Officials say GPM technology will be utilized in the integrated computer system in support of the FCS program.
The ICS securely integrates several operating platforms in the FCS system, which includes sensors and unmanned air and ground technologies.
"Curtiss-Wright is proud to partner with the FCS ICS team to enable advanced, high-density processing capabilities that support the U.S. Army's FCS program," Martin Benante, Curtiss-Wright chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"We have worked diligently to develop the embedded computing standards that enable the maximum throughput, compatibility and overall performance for defense applications. This award is a clear indication of our industry-leading technology and its value to future defense programs."
